What this site is

gowith.solar publishes free tools and articles about UK home energy. We do not sell, install or finance solar panels, batteries or heat pumps, and we do not pass your details to anyone who does.

The projections are estimates

The calculator produces an estimate from the figures you enter and a set of stated assumptions. It is not a quote, a survey, or financial advice. It does not know your roof, your shading, your actual half-hourly consumption or the price any installer would give you.

Treat the output as a way of comparing options against each other, not as a number to take to a lender. Get a professional assessment before committing money.

Your email address

If you give us your email address in the calculator, here is exactly what happens to it:

• It is stored in our mailing list, which is hosted by Resend, our email provider, on servers in the EU.
• We use it to send you occasional notes about UK home energy and about new tools on this site.
• We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with installers, brokers or any other third party.
• Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to delete your address at any time and we will.

Giving an email address is optional. The calculator works without it.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages people find useful. Nothing is set until you accept on the cookie banner, and the calculator works whether you accept or decline. Declining does not degrade the site.

Your choice is remembered in your browser. Clearing your browser storage will make the banner ask again.

Affiliate links

Some links to energy suppliers are referral links, and we may receive a credit if you switch through one. This is disclosed at the point of the link. It does not affect the calculator's output, which is computed from your inputs and published tariff data.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and object to us using it. The only personal data we hold is an email address, if you gave us one.
